Broken
It's been a while since I've written. There were times I wanted to, in the midst of trials and the unknown, but the problem with writing in the unknown is I sometimes feel like I'm writing in a circle. Patrick got an opportunity with work which could have moved us to California quickly--but they went with the other candidate. I've had some job opportunities and have spent a lot of time applying and interviewing for jobs, some I really wanted and was crushed when others were selected. There are times we feel like the perfect candidate for a position but must remember that other people have agency too, and they can use that agency to select someone else. Patrick and I have learned that numerous times over the past couple of months. With this almost same scenario playing out over and over, it felt weird to write because instead of giving an 'update', you would have been just as lost and confused as us as we tried to navigate life.
